Dennis Weaver on Gunsmoke

Dennis Weaver was an American actor best known for his role as Chester Goode on the iconic television series Gunsmoke. The series ran from 1955 to 1975 and is one of the longest-running TV shows in history. Weaver played Chester Goode, a deputy sheriff and sidekick to Marshal Matt Dillon, from 1955 to 1964. He was a part of the original cast and appeared in more than 200 episodes of the show.

Chester was known for his loyalty, sense of humor, and unwavering courage. He often served as comic relief during tense situations and provided support for Matt Dillon when he needed it most. Despite his small stature, he was a tough character who could handle himself in a fight. He was also incredibly resourceful and could often be relied upon to come up with creative solutions to problems.
